Overview
Emotions, in A. B. Genesis refers to the temporary alterations of a character’s (or narrator’s) voice. As much as possible, emotions are implemented using “styles” built-in into certain characters (like “sad”, “angry” or “happy”) or by explicitly modifying voice’s pitch, rate or volume. Emotions can be overlapping (sad + whispering), augmented !hurry or inverted ~hurry.
Note: emotions cannot be assigned to human-narrated characters.
Adding emotion
Going back to the first paragraph, we now what the text separated by — to be said faster. To do that, selected the text and then choose “Emotion/Hurry” from the ribbon or hit Shift-H to automatically set it to hurry.

Multiple Emotions
As per the characters, selecting a new emotion on the same text will replace it, but when holding Shift, it will add. Using one of the emotion accelerator, like Shift-O and Shift-P will add shout and hopeful.

Removing emotions
To remove emotions, right-click on the text box and select “Clear.”
Silence as an Emotion
The situation can arise when a section of the text needs to be omitted, either because a human narration includes addition text or, in the case below, where a human narrator, instead of reading the text, will provide an audio version of exhasperation.

Emotions and Accelerators
The current version does not easily allow for additional emotions to be defined, but it should be available in future updates.
